Last of May day

So we have made it to May 2025 and this last day of the month of May, in Maine, is a Saturday. This means it is raining. According to various reporters, this is the twelfth consecutive weekend of rain this year. We are approaching 8 inches for the month (the long-run average is 4 inches per month).
Here we have a rarity: a lady slipper. While we have always had lady slippers around in our local forests, their numbers have decreased steadily and I now consider them a rarity. They usually appear in early to mid May.
