A loon meandering around on Poggy Bay in Connecticut a few weeks ago suddenly dove and came up with a fish. I had several shots with better angles but the focus wasn’t sharp. This is the best of the set and you can make out part of the fish before it disappeared down the loon’s throat.
Despite the size of the fish, it was swallowed in an instant.


First image is from School-House road, looking southward across the great marsh to the bay west of the Money Point peninsula (the bay has a name on Google Maps but I have never heard of it and authenticity on Google Maps is typically suspect, my opinion). If you look way back in the background, you can see Rufus Allen’s house.
