After watching hummingbirds cycle through Tom’s pair of feeders during our last visit to Conn., we anticipated the upcoming hummingbird season in Maine. With frost warnings last week, we anticipated several more weeks before we would have to deal with them here.

The day we got back, a small hummingbird appeared around our front garden area, where no flowers or feeders exist yet. I think he (she) was mad.

I couldn’t find our small feeders from last year so I went out and bought a new big one. This little bird has been coming every day and I finally got a picture of her (him?).
