Here is a shot of North Dumpling isle from the shore line at Poggy Bay near the right-of-way dock. The image is captured at 300mm. Whaleback rock (on the left) is probably half-way; the distance to North Dumpling? Maybe three miles? Four? The February climate doesn’t provide the typical heating cycle that would induce mirages, but here you see a mirage effect.

The red/green/black buoy is near Whaleback, I think (see second image), and it is a mid-channel marker. The tall antenna or windmill propeller stand? is on North Dumpling and not sticking out of the buoy.
