From the garden
Today’s images come primarily from the local garden; we have lots of small, green cherry-tomato-like fruits in process; we are not sure why since the purchased plants were labeled as regular-sized tomatos. The rain-shortened growing season could be to blame. One may not appreciate the reality from these images: the largest fruit you see here is not even one-inch in diameter.
The last couple of images show an egret in a tree; the original shot is shown last, captured with a 300mm tele-photo lens at mid-morning on MI. With our software, we zoomed in, added pixel sharpening (this helps resolve fuzzy focus shots to some extent but is no replacement for getting your shots in focus), and adjusted brightness and contrast. The close-up by itself is not really a good photo until one considers the original image; the image captures 3000×2800 pixels in Nikon raw format; there is lots of data in the resulting digital file which becomes obvious when focusing in on a small portion: in this case, the area around the bird.
