You think the Korean war is heating up? Check out our latest property tenants: at least one blue jay nest has been found and a host of jays sortie around the yard and garage at all hours. Our cats appear to be doing shift duty in trying to catch jays and find their nests.

As usual when threatened, the jays are quite animated in motion and sound. We know when a cat is gettiing too close by the loud screaming. We have not captured (image-wise) them strafing the cats yet but it seems inevitable. We watched one jay harass a squirrel as it ran and jumped from branch to branch across the yard. It was a most amazing sight: two animals traversing the property at an altitude of fifteen feet, one using tree trunks and branches and the other in flight the entire way.
