Harold Cooper's glider

In 1911, a young Mainer named Harold Cooper was inspired by the flights of the Wright brothers and built a glider that historians believe looked like this. This replica now flies in the atrium of the Maine Cultural building (home of the State Archives, Library, and Museum). Records indicate that it flew about 100 feet in 1912 in Auburn.
