Our trail camera caught at least four does in the back last week. They appeared to hang around for at least twenty minutes.
A buck was captured on camera later at night. We do not see very many bucks when we do our walking in the woods but we almost always see at least one doe, and usually several. This is mating season, so the guys are in the area looking for the girls.
Not long after setting up a new trail camera in the backyard woods, we captured this image. We are about one week to go to the start of the 2018 deer hunting (with rifles) season. We have not seen any hunters hanging around the neighborhood so far – this does happen in some years. Generally we see, at the very least, our southern neighbor’s kid wandering around. Perhaps during this week there will be some.
Later, at around 2am, we captured another image, not sure if it is the same animal.
