The village of Cobh (pronounced “Cove”) in the southeastern corner of Ireland was originally “Queenstown” during the “English” years. It is dominated by St. Coleman’s cathedral and functions as the harbor for the larger, more well-known city of Cork. The community has used their experience as the last port of call of the Titanic to create a museum and other tourist attractions to draw In economic activity not related to the usual commercial harbor-based industry.
