The view of the Mystic river mouth and the Noank shoreline from Money Point. During this visit, we were able to see the outer reaches of Long Island, NY. Here, on the horizon, Plum Isl. is visible; on Friday we were able to see Montauk Pt. from the Breakwater restaurant in Stonington.

The cormorants were the primary population on the coastal rocks this week.

Egrets in the trees

During a Saturday afternoon walk [in CT], Uncle Tom spotted a collusion of egrets on the west side of the Ice Pond. He alerted the photo dept. and a team hustled down to the pond. There were at least ten or twelve, probably more. They were spread out in the trees to right and left.

It has been suggested that a coming batch of inclement weather may be the reason for this sudden visit in numbers.
