The bog in high contrast
During this weekend’s patrols around the bog, we found tracks from our neighbors along the trail. There are tracks along the trail and crossing the trail (the trail is packed down from snow-machines but foot-prints and hoof/paw prints are visible) from a multitude of other creatures as well.
The largest number of tracks come from deer. There are a few turkey and a modest number of rabbit, squirrel, chipmuck, and mice. I don’t identify the small rodents’ tracks specifically, so these are guesses and assumptions. I have seen dog tracks from the blogdog, of course, and the little dog of my neighbors. Yesterday, we found an interesting small set which seemed larger than a dog and almost like a bear? One issue with identifying these prints is the phenomena where prints will “grow” in size after the sun hits the area.
