Winter again at the beaverbog
Our recon down to the beaverbog the other day showed us the extent of the beaver dam at Bridge Charlie (the dam can be seen just beyond the bridge in this image). The stream has backed up, creating a small pond, now frozen.
It has been decades since the beavers have worked on this side of the bog. A closer look of the dam is shown below. Kayla, the new dog, was not happy she had to wait before crossing the bridge.
We have now reached day #310 of the pandemic retirement in Coronaville. The latest weather has been without precipitation and temperatures have been above freezing for at least a few hours every day. As shown in previous posts, the pond that this stream empties into has been frozen over but not enough to be trusted for any extensive activity.
We have not had to use snow shoes for any of our hikes so far this year.
