Woods walk

We are continuously impressed with the quality of the rock walls lying quietly in the middle of the adjacent woods. This particular specimen is part of a long wall smack in the middle of the 90 acre wood on the other side of the beaver bog. On either side of the wall must have been a field for cows and horses, or tilled farmland, perhaps a hundred years ago?
The large tree trunk covered with moss lies near a t-section of the wall, where another wall lies running toward the south. This was a many acre operation and it is all woods now.

Love the stone wall!
It is away from the trail and runs for a quarter mile, but not all of it is small flat pieces like this. A hidden masterpiece.
