A variety of images from this weekend, mostly from the Smithfield Plantation conservation property. The vernal pool is one of a few that still has water at this time of year (it may be difficult to see due to the low light conditions). The last image is an odd looking birch tree which had the unfortunate fate of getting cut down by a beaver; the new growth shooting out the top is not typical and makes it a funny looking tree at the moment.
