During the odd mid-day holiday for Independence day this year, we found action in different places around the bog. Here, at direct left, is a quick snap of a doe checking us out. For the last two years, the number of deer sightings has steadily increased. We see deer on every patrol with only a few exceptions.

The bird, perhaps a warbler. shown at left/below, was poking around in the swamp flora on the far side of the bog.
