At the equinox
On a visit into the back woods we met a local hunter type who mentioned that he saw a small moose and some coyotes in the area; so that is our latest goal: get a picture of a moose (it is unlikely we would see any coyotes). The moose apparently is hanging out beyond the beaver bog near where I have seen owls. While there is about 90 acres for it to hide in, I think it will stay near the water sources like the beaver bog. And, because there is not much for water besides the bog, I am not sure how long this moose will elect to stay in the area.
While you wait for this picture, here is some boring foliage, although the un-identified weed has some nice repeating pattern leaves (second image down). This was at the Viles Arboretum in Augusta from last weekend, where we caught the late summer haying – now done in big rolls and not in bales (third image).
