Bog down time

The latest beaver residence in the farthest bog is proving to be a boring place. It looks pretty much the same as the previous visits over the last month.
Last weekend when these images were taken, it was above freezing but there was no activity. We did a brief excursion on the left (northwest) edge of the bog and marveled at the distance of some of the gnawed trees from the water’s edge. The beavers are methodically gathering resources.
The persistent warm temperatures may be a positive for them. The other aspect of interest is the number of trees gnawed but not utilized. This one here (right) has been lying here since we first discovered the habitation. There are several one foot or more in diameter which have gnawing started but progress has stopped or is proceeding only slowly.
