Bog patrol on the march
This is a snapshot from our previous bog patrol on the beaverbog with the gopro camera. Trying to get videos to run and/or load has been tricky (I am, after all, a motionless camera picture-taker at heart). This image is from last week. Today we found running water along the northwest edge of the bog and on the outlet stream. Water levels are high as the heavy snow pack is melting fast.
There are wildlife tracks periodically along the trail but not alot. I think the slow melt has caused the ground based animals to curtail movement. We are also not seeing many birds yet.
Chickadees are out. A pair of hairy woodpeckers have been having breakfast in the morning on a rotting birch tree behind our house. Do these birds pose for pictures? NOT.
Today while on the snow machine trail, a hawk flew high overhead, too far for a good picture, yelling at us the whole time. I am trying to make these creatures famous and they are not co-operating.
