This past weekend we took our usual hike around the Smithfield Plantation conservation property; the bog spur trail is one of our favorites. We have previously reported on the enduring evidence of beaver activity here. Up a hill on the regular trail is an old hunter’s tree stand dating back to the time when hunting was allowed.
