The upper bog

As promised, the warm air has flowed in this weekend. The only snow left is in sheltered locations or on the trails where snow-machines have compacted the material into ice.

The first image is from mid-week just at sun-set between the lower and upper bogs; the setting sun reflects in the standing water or vernal pool. The time-change for daylight savings has allowed us to make bog patrols after work now.

The remaining images are from Sat. (3/17, Happy St. Patrick’s Day) where we hit 60F.
