Boothbay harbor and Kennebec river trip
This week we went on the annual Boothbay Harbor evening cruise with the local Kiwanis club. Again this year, we went west from Boothbay through the inland channel called the Sasanoa river, ending up at Bath Iron Works on the Kennebec River. On this evening, the boat skipper went within 400 ft of the soon-to-be-commissioned DDG-112 (USS Murphy) and inspired the marine patrol to chug out and silently advise us to go away.
Along the way we saw a number of osprey and a few herons but low light and a moving boat precluded quality images.
