For our July adventure this year, we went north to Grand Falls Township and a small camp in the Maine woods near the Madagascal stream.

The stream runs many miles south from the Lincoln area to the north side of the Passadumkeag ridge. There are many beaver dens along the route as well as beaver dams in various stages of destruction and construction. Seeing beavers is rare since we travel during mid-day. Every other year or so, we see moose and this happened this year. A gopro camera on the front of the canoe has some less-than-adequate images of a bull moose we came face-to-face with at a corner of the stream. We hope to post some part of these here.

From last month with the game camera in the back woods behind our house. The local herd has stayed away from our hostas for the most part this season. We do see deer and the evidence of their presence almost every trip out into the nearby woods.
