The third stop on our recent Alaska cruise was the former gold rush port called Skagway, the northernmost port of call on the trip. The weather continued to be perfect and this was our view departing Skagway, heading back south, I think.
Identifying the locations on some of my photos requires studying maps and checking date and time details in the image file data; this is one reason for the time lag for posting my pictures.

We got to Juneau in the morning; this is Alaska’s state capital and the biggest town on our visit. Visiting with us was another cruise ship and the USS O’Kane, a Burke-class destroyer built in Bath, Maine, and seen here on the left. I first thought the ship was a Destroyer Escort because it looked pretty small compared to our ship. This is the same kind of ship as the USS Fitzgerald which got clobbered by a container ship the other day off Japan.
