During our recent week in Mystic, there were a few evenings where the sunset at the little beach was recordable. With some tonal manipulation applied, this first image catches a lonely cormorant enjoying the view. The breeze was light but steady, the clouds were roiled.
A bit later in the evening, the sun set in earnest behind Money Point. The breeze was less a factor and the clouds have settled down and spread out.

During our week in Mystic, we managed to catch a number of species. Here is a red-headed woodpecker which was on the big oak near the mailbox. The branch he is on is the massive one that hangs directly over the driveway at the entrance. When the big storm comes, this branch is going to take out the utility pole across the street and may even crush any cars at the former Mayo Smith’s driveway. Oh yeah, Anchor lane will be impassable until someone with a BIG saw shows up.
