After several weeks of intermittent snow-ice-rain and everything in-between, we ventured down to the pond. There has been local snow-machine traffic on the closed trail (which uses the pond as a transit avenue) but most users appear to be using the safer alternative detour.
Early Saturday evening (Feb. 8) looking east into the back yard is the so-called “Snow moon” or the full moon in February, although it seems an unlikely label if one lived in California or South Carolina!
