Chinooks at the museum

The Chinook breed originated in New Hampshire as a sledding and working dog; a Maine connection originated
In the late 1930s when Perry Greene, a noted outdoorsman, bred Chinooks in Waldoboro, Maine, for many years until his death in 1963. Rare and closely-held by Greene, who was for many years the only breeder of Chinooks, the population dwindled rapidly after his death. ~ from Wikipedia
While some of my images make them look somewhat aggressive, they are quite the opposite and probably make great pets.

Hmm – Bear looks like a relative. He’s also very intelligent and a good buddy. Too bad you don’t have a sled…
Yes, the small group of dogs that were at the exhibit while I was there all could have been Bear’s relatives; the common denominator is the Husky line, I think. The Bear has shepherd and lab mixed in to make him an all-around dog. As long as he was the lead dog, he probably wouldn’t mind pulling a sled.
