Driving to the mid-coast

| At the Cobbosseecontee stream near the New Mills dam, an old bridge is getting repaired; the orange signs provide vivid contrast to the surrounding winter white; the traffic is routed over a temporary bridge, which can be seen in the distance on the far right. |
| Here is the close-up of the temporary bridge; two narrow auto lanes and a pedestrian path, seen at the upper left. The pedestrian access has quite the angle to it; when considering that no one shovels any of the snow off of it, it may be a challenge to some. |
| Approaching the Rockland/Rockport area from inland brings one to Ragged Mountain; the summit is just a bit higher than 1200 feet, so it actually is more hill than mountain. |
