End of march

We have been waiting for enough thawing to be able to do our patrols without extra gear. This winter of repeated snow-rain-freeze storms made it difficult to pick the correct foot gear for outside activity. Boots with crampons one day, then snowshoes and gaiters another. It was typical that what we selected turned out to be ill-advised. Then there were the days we needed hip boots ….. here we are after some thawing. This is the former railway line that separates us from our neighbor.
Our game cameras have been getting some good images while we stayed inside figuring what to wear. Below, you see a whole team of deer bedded down in front of the camera the other night!

Only one turkey was caught on film here but typically there are nineteen or more right behind.
