From CT to the ME back woods
The current status of the dock at the right-of-way on Poggy Bay would likely be embarrassing to the members of the Poggy Bay Dock Association (or embarrassing to the original members, now mostly, if not all, deceased). We shall see in the coming months whether there exists a current set of overseers.
On the back woods trail this past weekend in Maine, we encountered a small beech or similar tree poking out of the snow on a bright, sunny day. We received just millimeters of snow at the end of the week when southern New England received lots.
The backwoods trail meanders to a right-of-way corridor for an underground petroleum pipeline, shown here as it heads straight as an arrow up a local rise. You can see the remnants of snow-machine tracks.
