Over three weeks of filling and refilling the feeder. Periodically sitting out (OK, front steps of your house, all the food and beer and reading material you want, not tough duty) and waiting.
Beautiful pictures. But I think I see your problem with attracting hummingbirds. My feeders have little perches and more than one port so they have choice (upwind/downwind, sunny/shady side) and don’t have to expend so much energy to get energy.
The price was right for our version (gift); your version seems un-natural. We are going for the more traditional crowd (of course, our birds traveled an extra 250 miles north from Mexico to visit Maine, maybe we should have chairs and tables for them?)
