Halloween sundown

Our 2014 Halloween report is the same as earlier years, but different.
We did not get any trick-or-treaters, which is usual. This was the sunset as seen from a side road on my way home. It is typical for this week but the only one I photographed. The day after Halloween is the annual fall-back for local time; it seems pretty dark to be trick-or-treating at sundown. So, this was different.
The day after Halloween is the start of Maine’s deer-hunting-with-guns season. Many people had to wake up at 3am to get to the Sportsman’s club for the annual hunter breakfast, then proceed out to their tree-stands by day break or earlier. Perhaps they have been out to the stand over the previous weeks, setting bait (which is illegal for deer hunting) and measuring ranges.
