The weather continues to dominate our attention here: 2014 looks and feels pretty much as 2013 ended: degrees = zero in Fahrenheit, wind low at the moment and ice everywhere. Did I mention more snow promised for tomorrow?

Last Saturday evening, this tree management crew patroled our road and was removing a ten-foot hanging limb when I got this picture from our driveway. Soon after that but in no way related, our internet service began to degrade but not completely stop. It was like this for twelve to twenty hours but, we never lost power.

A major storm (a “nor’easter”) is forecast for tomorrow but it is trending south and will only deposit three-to-six inches on us (they say). We really need a thaw to get rid of some of this ice.
