Greetings from the backwoods; the pileated woodpecker was back the other day. The quality of the photo-taking opportunity was low: gray skies, thick woods, and many yards away. The larger image at left is heavily processed for brightness and color saturation; some imaging sharpness was also applied.
An alternate application of image manipulation was applied to this smaller image, which actually is a second photo; a “de-noising” was applied where image granularity gets reduced.
