We caught this gull over a nearby pond and have attempted to identify. The important identifiers of beak markings, eye color, eye ring (or not), potential age, wing markings and colors, are confusing. It could be an immature herring gull according to guidebooks but I didn’t think it was a young bird. It might be a ring-billed gull but central Maine is not a typical venue.
