Ice pond duck meeting
Yesterday at the daily meeting of the Ice Pond Duck Association (Connecticut division), there was a motion, slow-but-sure, toward the north end of the pond. A second group, not shown, seconded the motion. There was no discussion. Typically for this group, one guy steps up onto a podium (generally reserved for turtles) to pronounce on something (see him at extreme right).
There were eight females and nine males in this group of Mallards shown. Almost an equal number is not shown. Lots of ducks on the pond.
Later, there was a motion to the right when a guy and a dog approached. See second image.
This morning, there was ice across the surface of the pond and the IPDA had dissolved. There were no ducks, geese, or and other floating living things.
A local resident says the recent severe low water condition of the pond has been completely reversed. We are now at typical water levels.
