We went out today into the backwoods during deer hunting season (one week old) and found no deer nor anyone looking for them. The most excitement is our new iPhone and its camera, which is pretty good. Here is an image from the device.

There is still remnants of snow from the rogue storm of Halloween eve, but not very much. Temperatures are more consistently colder, but enough warmth has melted most of the snow. We only got about three inches but it was thoroughly water-logged and very heavy to pick up or push around. Very nasty.

Our biggest interest in our patrols into the woods at this time is monitoring the snow-machine trail maintenance efforts. So far this year, there has been none.
