In between storms
We received an honest fifteen inches of snow from the blizzard that swept through right after Christmas (after flooding California and snowing over the Deep South). There has been little since but the weather has remained seasonably cold; the local creek has partially iced over as can be seen here.
Over in the bog, cat-o-nine tails remain in place to a large extent and seem to be hesitant to go into seeding mode. There are many signs of animals of all sizes seen in the remaining snow. Deer have been eating the yews out by the road. We are bracing for the next storm which is due to arrive tomorrow.
On Saturday, we got about an inch of snow overnight and heard the town snow-plow pass by three times (an operational pace that defies logic especially when compared to the storms where one pass per half-a-foot is all we get).
