Long weekend extra effort
We got another bright blue winter day to run a patrol over to the far bog hoping to catch some bird sitings. No luck. The birds are quiet, waiting for the spring (although I can hear chirping and the hammering of a lonely woodpecker in the distance every so often). We found a couple spots where deer have been doing their own trekking in numbers. This one at left is undoubtedly a path to my neighbor who is likely feeding them.
We have seen over ten snow machiners per day this weekend. This makes sense since this is the first big weekend after major snowfall in a couple years. Over at the hay field on the way to the far bog (see left) you can see where the snow machiners used all the track they could. Looking straight over the hill, the middle bog sits behind the tree line. The far bog is behind us in this photo.
The image below shows one of these travelers as they proceed over bridge bravo (see orange object at center of the photo). The railings on bridge bravo can be seen to the left of the rider. This was taken right from our front steps, about 100 yards away.
