Mem day Sunday
On Sunday we went to Miller State Park and the hiking trails up and down Pack Monadnock.
We took a relatively easy trail up the mountain (elev. 2290ft). This was more than a mile and took more than a hour. This red squirrel was the most significant wild life we encountered. At the top, we went up the fire tower and visited with the old park ranger manning the site for the day.

The most significant find of the day was hundreds of lady slippers. I have never seen so many in one day or in such a confined area. I am used to spotting about twenty over the course of a season (generally the season is the month of May) and finding this many here was astounding.
