Mid-August
At the Ice Pond where a hundred Canadian tourists (geese-like creatures depositing piles and piles of little white feathers all over the pond) have been congregating these past few days in South-eastern Connecticut. If the problem isn’t chemical run-off inspired algae, it is pond-fouling fowls from away. I do have to admit, while sitting by the pond at the distant other end shown here, I saw minnows, perches, and other water-based creatures still alive. There are home owners and golf course groundskeepers sighing with relief that hordes of geese are not pooping away on their yards and greens – at least until this evening. Hah!
