More logs
The logging operation across the road has continued on into three weeks or so now. The wood they are extracting seems endless. On Sunday past, we reconnoitered the entire acreage. While the areas they have cut cover many acres, the cutting is intermittent, so it is not exceptionally noticeable as compared to the old days where they would typically clear-cut forests into wide-open clearings.
The first image here is a view from the road early last week. This area is not visible from our house but when the chipper is operating or the tractor is moving around, the noise sounds like they are in our driveway. It is quite loud.
The second image is from last weekend from the woods behind the operation (the road is behind the blue-gray chipper in the right of center); therefore, the wood you see in image-one is long gone: either chipped, loaded on a trailer-truck, and hauled away, or, the logs were directly loaded on a flat-bed logging truck and hailed away.
The wood in the second shot is new stuff harvested this past week.
