Mystic summer weekend 3

Jim, Murphy, and I went over to the so-called Great Marsh off of Money Point road on Saturday evening. As we approached the dock at the marsh, we heard an osprey chirping excitedly. Then one flew away from the right side of the dock area and headed for trees along the right side of the marsh about a quarter-mile away.
As we meandered along the right-of-way, a blue heron flew across the marsh from left to right and landed high up in the trees on the right, as you see it here.
Hoping to lure the heron to come closer, Jim took Murphy back to the house.
The heron never did come close, but an osprey, probably the one we roused at our approach, made a recon pass right at me, veering to the left as he got closer.
