New trail
This weekend was the first opportunity to check out the newest addition to our local neighborhood: a snow machine (snowmobile) trail that bypasses our property line. You can see one of two bridges built over the creek that runs from the beaver bog to the pond in image one at left. Our property line which coincided with the former Gardiner – Lewiston electric trolley line (circa 1920s) was also a local snow machine trail. Our neighbor had problems with the snow machine operators and resolved to close the trail this summer. We has issues with excessive tree trimming by other trail users and we agreed to support the closing of the trail. As a result, the local snowmobile club built a new trail.
Today it was below zero to start the morning; by noon it was twenty degrees F.
Here is a self- portrait: it was too cold to take the time to get the focus right; I managed to set the 10- second delay timer and set the camera down and jump out in front.
