We went to North Conway (NH) this weekend and stayed a couple days at the White Mountain Hotel and Resort. Next to the hotel is the rock formation called Cathedral Ledge; the rock face is impressive with a variety of different features. There are very smooth, polished areas that contrast dramatically with the jagged and fractured portions. We did not have time to get closer and get more pictures of details of this.

The moon was visible in the morning for these images; by the end of the morning, clouds and haze made the photographic opportunities less impressive. Looking east from the hotel provides a view across the valley that runs north-south.

Some of you may have noticed that my “About” page disappeared a couple weeks ago. An administrative update to the site probably was the cause (it was entirely un-intentional), but I am not sure how I did it. The good news was that I have been able to resurrect it from a back-up (not exactly a simple process but the fact that I did do a back-up and could re-store the original information is a good feeling).
