Noank views
Nearing the end of 2016, we caught a thermo-nuclear device (locally known as the “sun”) exploding over Noank (CT) and the mouth of the Mystic River. Fishers Island (NY) is seen on the horizon, stage left.
The cloud bank hovering over the town did not move during the two hours or so before the final appearance of the sun. This left a sliver of open sky immediately above the horizon. As the sun set, it reflected red light off the bottom of the closer cloud bank resulting in the second image shown here.
