On the eastern side of MI
If you have seen images from Mary Lou of the damage around the yacht club, these will be familiar. The Enders isl road past the club is torn into an earthquake-like tangle with jigsaw pieces of asphalt road way scattered about.
It is remarkable that the stone wall barrier is largely intact in a Maginot-Line kind of quality (see third image). Surging water went around the wall on the north side and flooded behind the wall, washing away soil and collapsing the east side edge of the road. The asphalt road bed broke into large pieces and some floated across the road.
The yacht club dock is damaged in its mid-section, starting about ten feet onto the wood framework. The cement portion leading to the wooden frame is intact. If the uplifted section was at the end, they would have a nice ferry loading ramp. It appears that just two adjacent posts couldn’t stay anchored and caused most of the damage.
It was hard to tell what the high water mark was at the yacht club. The main club buildings did not look like they were seriously flooded. The evidence around the Poggy Bay right-of-way suggests the high water mark there was perhaps six feet on average.
