Pre-Spring view

Last week’s view of the pond (it looks the same today). The snow cover has diminished enough for regular boots to handle. Temperatures in the mid-forties is allowing slow melting and contributes to a modest mud season (so far).
Streams are running and the pond is showing signs of ice breakup at the stream entrance points (to the right in this image is where our local beaver bog stream empties). Despite this warming of the pond snow and ice, we saw an ice fisherman today on the right side.
