Recent recons

While on a brief visit to the north of Bangor last week, I journeyed to a place called “Lake George Regional Park.” It had all the signage and supporting infrastructure just like a Maine state park, but apparently it was only “regional.”
Our foliage this year has been unusually bright and colorful. Potential reasons could be the two-and-a-half times normal, almost, of rainfall in July and August (we normally get over the long term history about 4 inches a month). August was over ten inches. Then we had much drier September and October. Windy days have been minimal. Temperatures are probably running higher than normal.
On another hike closer to home, we stopped by the No-Name pond [see below]
