Snow patrol
After the storm dropped about ten inches on Thanksgiving eve, it has been cold enough to keep the snow on the trees. The snow depth is just about the maximum before one should convert to snow shoes.
We followed tracks made by hunters over the last few days (today is Sunday, so there shouldn’t be any active hunters out). We have not heard any gun shots and there was no evidence anyone has shot anything among the tracking we have done. There are the usual tracks of deer and lesser animals.
The third image here shows the stream through the upper, or lesser, bog. It is noteworthy that the stream is not frozen here (we have had two evenings of 16F or so temperatures), suggesting sufficient water movement. In most parts of the area, exposed surface water is frozen.
