The last sardine
That is, the last sardine can packed in the U.S. at a fish factory was on exhibit at the State Museum this past weekend (the exhibit will be open for a few months). The Stinson Seafoods plant on the coast of Maine shut down several months ago with a small flurry of media exposure. Sardines are young herring, a fish species that is now primarily used as lobster bait.
